CO Detector Installation & Interconnect
Plan CO alarm installation or replacement around the home's layout, fuel-burning equipment and existing alarm system. The scope distinguishes battery, plug-in and hardwired devices, and confirms whether the selected alarms support interconnection.

Common questions
Since January 1, 2026, applicable houses need CO alarms near each sleeping area and on every storey. This includes homes with fuel-burning appliances, fireplaces, attached garages or specified external fuel-fired heated-air supplies. Confirm your property's requirements before choosing locations.
Only if the devices and connection method are compatible under the manufacturer's instructions. Hardwired power alone does not establish compatibility, and mixing brands or models cannot be assumed to work.
Only if it is a combination model explicitly labelled for both functions. We check the actual devices when reviewing coverage; a smoke-only alarm does not provide CO detection.
